The Auto industry is requesting a bail out just as the housing industry has requested in the past. The White House had pondered bailing out the auto industry similarly to the mortgage industry. The situation is getting uglier and uglier due to the pressures being credited by those in congress, the White House and citizens opposing the bailing. Some think that the bail out is bad business for tax payers.
Others agree that the housing industry is more acceptable for a bail out due to the mortgage industry affecting so many home owner, and is considered more of a long term investment. Housing and the auto industry have taken front stage in 2008 due to the global economic crisis taking place. Even though there are some solutions to our housing problems and more are being created on a regular basis, see http://oswingrant.blogspot.com for some of the latest solutions to our mortgage problems.
Auto makers on the other hand are in need of help due to their business pratices. If we bail them out with tax payers money that might come across the wrong way to other businesses looking for a hand out. Other companies might want to take to easy way out too when they get in a bad situation, which prevents our free market from operating at maximum capability. Government giving a helping hand might keep weak companies from dying out, which kept them alive and prevents stronger companies from being born; Therefore, they might end back up in the same situation they were in before being bailed out. How do you feel about that. Should government step in or not, and will the auto industry fail, or get better without a helping hand from tax payers.
